THE SAND IS RUNNING —
AND WE’RE NOT CLOSING OUR DOORS-Heritage Happenings.
As of 2024–2025, research shows that between 5,000 and 7,000 churches close their doors every year in North America.
That’s not speculation.
That’s not fear-mongering.
That’s documented reality.
Some studies warn the number could reach 10,000–15,000 churches per year if current trends continue.
Let that settle.
Every week, churches like ours—
faithful, well-meaning, Jesus-loving congregations—
hold their last service.
Not because they stopped believing.
Not because they denied the gospel.
But because they ran out of people, passion, and provision.
Heritage Church is not going to be one of them.
But I need to say this plainly, lovingly, and clearly:
That will not happen by accident.
That will not happen by tradition.
That will not happen by “we’ve always done it this way.”
It will take all of us.
NO MORE “SOMEDAY”
Someday I’ll serve.
Someday I’ll give more.
Someday I’ll invite someone.
Someday I’ll commit when things settle down.
Church, someday is a liar.
Someday has closed more churches than persecution ever has.
Someday sounds spiritual.
But it’s just procrastination dressed up in good intentions.
The time is now.
2026 is not a “wait and see” year.
It is a make-or-break year.
We do not have:
endless reserves
endless margin
endless time
We cannot keep doing what we’ve always done and expect a different future.
That’s why I’ve been changing things.
Yes—even the toilet paper.
(Look, if we’re going down, it won’t be on scratchy one-ply.)
But humor aside, hear my heart:
We will not survive on autopilot.
We will not thrive on comfort.
THIS WILL TAKE ALL OF US
If Heritage Church is going to thrive in 2026 and beyond,
every member must lean in—together.
Here’s what I’m asking.
1. Grow in Attendance
Church is not a hobby.
It’s a commitment.
Your presence matters.
Your consistency matters.
When you show up:
you strengthen the body
you encourage someone else
you remind yourself why this matters
We cannot build momentum with half the team on the bench.
2. Grow in Giving
Not “I’ll give when things improve.”
Not “I’ll start later.”
Now.
Faithfully.
Generously.
Sacrificially.
This is not about pressure.
This is about survival and mission.
Without increased generosity, we will not make it.
Jesus said,
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
If we believe in the mission, we fund the mission.
3. Grow in Energy & Commitment to Reaching People
This is the heart of it.
Not programs.
Not preferences.
People.
Here is the challenge for 2026:
Every member commits to bringing ONE person this year who becomes part of this church.
Not just a one-time visit.
Not just “come check it out.”
Someone who:
needs Jesus
feels far from God
thinks church isn’t for them
carries shame, doubt, or exhaustion
Pick your friend wisely.
Because if every one of us brought one, Heritage Church would double.
Not someday.
This year.
I CAN’T DO THIS ALONE
I can preach.
I can lead.
I can change systems and structures.
But I cannot:
give for you
invite for you
commit for you
The New Testament church didn’t grow
because pastors worked harder.
It grew because the people owned the mission.
A PLACE FOR EVERY HEART
Heritage Church is becoming—
and will continue to be—
a place for every heart.
A place where people who feel a million miles from God
are welcomed, not judged.
A place where wounds are treated gently.
A place where people are encouraged
to become all God intends—not all we expect.
But that only happens if we bring them.
Your neighbor.
Your coworker.
Your family member.
Your friend who says,
“If I walked into church, the building would collapse.”
Bring them anyway.
Jesus specialized in people who felt far away.
THE SAND IS FALLING — LET’S NOT WASTE IT
Churches are closing.
Time is short.
The mission is urgent.
Heritage Church is still here for a reason.
And I believe—deeply—
that our best days are still ahead if we live like today counts.
No more someday.
No more delay.
No more half-hearted faith.
Let’s show up.
Let’s give generously.
Let’s bring people who need Jesus.
Because the sand is falling.
And we are not closing our doors.
Let’s build something
worth passing on.
The Best Is Yet to Come, Right?

HERITAGE CHURCH — THIS SUNDAY, JANUARY 4, 2026
“7000 DAYS”
Look at that graphic.
An hourglass.
A clock.
Sand falling.
Time moving.
No pause button.
No rewind.
7000 DAYS.
That’s not a number to panic over.
That’s a number to wake up.
Because the new year shows up like a blank page…
and we fill it fast.
With noise.
With deadlines.
With distractions.
With “I’ll get to God when things slow down.”
But the sand is already falling.
So this Sunday, we’re starting 2026 with a message that will grab you by the soul and say:
Stop counting what doesn’t matter. Start counting what counts.
Not a self-help pep talk.
Not a resolution guilt trip.
A realignment.
With the One who created your life.
And holds your time.
And gives you today on purpose.
Bring a friend.
Seriously.
Somebody needs this wake-up more than you do… and you might need it more than you think.
Worship at Heritage Church — Sunday, Jan 4th
9:00 AM — Choir-led Traditional Service
11:00 AM — Contemporary “wake-you-up” Service with the Heritage Praise Band
Don’t miss this.
Because the clock is ticking.
The sand is falling.
And this is the year to live on purpose.
7000 DAYS.
See you Sunday.
Year-End Giving Challenge — Let’s Finish Strong
Church, before we move on, I want to pause and say something that matters deeply.
Thank you.
To every person who has already given faithfully this year—thank you.
Your generosity has made a real, visible, lasting difference.
Because of your giving, Heritage Church has been transformed—not for comfort, but for mission.
Together, we have:
Reimagined the sanctuary layout to better welcome people
Installed new doors that literally open wider to our community
Paved the parking lot so first impressions say “you belong here”
Built a brand-new AV system, including an LED wall, stage, and focal point
Launched a new website and strengthened social media so people can find us before they ever walk through the doors
None of that happened by accident.
All of it required sacrifice.
All of it required faithful giving.
And here’s the most important part:
Every improvement has one purpose:
to clearly present the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to reach people who are far from God.
Lights don’t save people.
Parking lots don’t save people.
Websites don’t save people.
Jesus saves people.
But these tools remove barriers so people can hear, see, and experience the good news.
Now Here’s the Ask
As we approach year-end, I want to challenge every person at Heritage Church:
Finish strong.
Not out of pressure.
Not out of guilt.
But out of vision.
We are not done.
And we cannot slow down now.
If you’ve already given—thank you. Would you consider giving again?
If you’ve been waiting—this is your moment.
If Heritage is your church—this is your responsibility and your joy.
Right now, on the screen, you’ll see a QR code.
That QR code is not just a link.
It’s an opportunity.
A decision.
A statement that says:
“I believe in what God is doing here, and I want to be part of it.”
You can scan it.
You can give today.
You can help position Heritage Church for a strong, faithful, Gospel-centered future.
Why This Matters
Every dollar given is not about buildings.
It’s about people.
The neighbor who hasn’t been to church in years.
The family looking for hope.
The person who feels a million miles away from God.
Your generosity helps say to them:
“There’s a place for you here.”
So thank you.
And let’s finish this year strong.
Because what we’re building isn’t just a church facility—
it’s a Gospel witness for generations to come.
Let’s give faithfully.
Let’s give generously.
And let’s keep reaching people with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

Finding Hope After Loss — You’re Not Meant to Do This Alone
Separation and divorce can turn life upside down. It’s a season many never expect—filled with grief, uncertainty, isolation, and questions about what comes next. If you’re walking this road right now, hear this clearly: you don’t have to walk it by yourself.
Heritage Church is grateful to offer Divorce Care, a weekly, Christ-centered support group created to help individuals navigate the pain of separation and divorce with honesty, compassion, and hope. This biblically grounded program provides a safe and structured environment where healing can begin and restoration can take root.
What to Expect
13-Week Weekly Gatherings:
Each session includes a video featuring experienced Christian counselors, pastors, and people who have been through divorce themselves—sharing insight, encouragement, and real stories of healing.
A Caring, Understanding Community:
You’ll be part of a small group where others truly understand what you’re facing. This is a judgment-free space where listening is just as valued as sharing, and participation is always at your comfort level.
Practical Help for Real Life:
Topics include managing anger and grief, coping with loneliness, navigating financial and legal challenges, learning forgiveness, and discovering how to move forward with confidence and purpose.
A Path Toward Hope and Renewal:
Divorce Care helps you apply God’s truth to your circumstances so you can rebuild your life, grow stronger, and find renewed hope for what lies ahead.
